Matrix Group was founded in 1994 by John Webb and Leon Vahn. After gaining experience at other commercial real estate companies in the Denver area, John envisioned starting his own company so that he could do business “his way.” His way meant running a privately-owned, entrepreneurial, dynamic company with a focus on providing friendly customer service and a reliable return to its investors.

When Matrix Group first started in April 1994, the original team consisted of two employees and the portfolio started with a $975,000 investment in a building called One Monaco Park located on E. Tennessee Avenue in Denver. John was able to increase the occupancy of his first investment from 20% to 80% within the first 8 months following the acquisition and later sold the property in January 2012. Since then, John has applied similar strategies, theories and techniques to grow the portfolio to what it is today. Over the last several years, John has carefully constructed a remarkable team of individuals who are truly committed to providing outstanding, friendly customer service to our tenants and investors.

Today, our portfolio includes properties that are diverse in terms of location, class, property type, and demographic backing. The tenants who make up our portfolio range from small startups and nonprofit organizations to Fortune 500 companies and everything in between. We believe in treating all of our tenants with the same amount of attention and respect throughout the entire leasing and property management process, regardless of their lease size or their financial impact on our bottom line.
